ABOUT THIS CHURCH

The Body of Christ

If the world wants to know what Christ is like, they should be able to look at the church.

How does the church become like Christ? First, it is accomplished when we transform our

own lives into the likeness of Christ (Rom 12:1). Second, the activity of the body

of Christ in this world should cause the world to see Christ through the church.

It is with this in mind that the Hilltop Church of Christ seeks to do its work.

We invite you to come join us and glorify Christ in the world through the work of the church.

Families

Families are very important to this congregation. We encourage family activities

designed to strengthen all aspects of family life. Our congregation fellowships

together on the months that have five Sundays, we call "5th Sunday Potluck".

A section of our land is fenced off for your children's safety. so they can play and

socialize together. This is a special time to meet new friends and encourage one.

The church is encouraged to invite friends and neighbors from the community to

attend our services. This is an example of the many activities and fellowships that

occur throughout the year.

Youth

Our youth program is based on teaching, worship, service and fellowship activities.

Our youth have been actively involved in Leadership Training for Christ, better

known as LTC. The youth gain more knowledge of the Bible by the repetitious

training involved in LTC.

Bible Classes

The Hilltop Church of Christ has Bible centered classes for all ages, from

preschool through adult. It is always the goal of our Bible classes to teach

God's Word. We want our people to become knowledgeable about His Book.

Another objective of our Bible classes is to encourage fellowship and the

building of Christian friendships. Because of this, many of our classes

promote fellowship activities where Christian associations can occur

outside of Bible class and worship. When you visit our services there

will be people in the foyer of our building who will assist you and your

children in finding your class.

Shepherd's &

Deacons

The church is served by two elders and  three deacons.

The elders work closely with the minister in providing the church

with the proper spiritual nourishment. The deacons have been

assigned special responsibilities by the church in serving in various capacities.

The church conducts all of its affairs in an open manner, including the

selection of leadership and church finances.

What to Expect

Normally, our Adult Bible classes study right out of the text of the Bible.

Feel free to attend any class you choose. Ask someone to describe

the available classes and direct you to one. We also have classes for

the children. On Sunday morning, our worship lasts for about an hour.

During this time, we will sing songs in multimedia format using Paperless Hymnal,

pray, partake of the Lord's supper, give an offering to God, and hear a lesson from God's word.

In addition, special mention will be made of the sick and we will pray

together in their behalf. We will also welcome those who are visiting

among us. After our services are over, we stay and visit with one another.

We encourage you not to leave immediately because there will be many

who will want to meet you. After you leave our assembly, you may have

some questions. If so, feel free to call the office or visit with the elders or minister.
